2013 New York Non Profit Revitalization Act

In December of 2013, Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York signed into law the first changes to state statutes governing nonprofit organizations in over 40 years - New York’s Nonprofit Revitalization Act of 2013
  • the New York Nonprofit Revitalization Act of 2013 (the Revitalization Act) came into effect and brought about major changes for all New York nonprofit corporations, mandating that they  update their by-laws; adopting new conflict of interest and, in some cases, whistleblower policies, etc.
  • As a result, in April of 2014  the AKC had to update the AKC Charter and By Laws with respect to the AKC’s Conflict of Interest and Unethical Conduct Polices.  Beginning on page 11 of the  AKC Board Minutes April 21, 2014
